Sonic Lost World is still a fantastic looking game. I love the overall presentation for this game and think that they did a great job with the game in that regard. The gameplay is what most people will criticize the game for and in some cases, I can see why.

One thing that this game tries to do is make levels about speed and exploration. These two things are sometimes at odds with each other and the new parkour mechanics when they work are great, but sometimes you just flat outfall.

The gameplay is what you would expect from a typical 3D Sonic game and one thing that I do like is the way the words have a kind of cylinder feel to it. I actually liked the exploration aspect of the game and think had they focused more on this that the parkour, Sonic Lost World could have been a very different kind of game. I would say that the Zelda level alone makes the Wii U version an essential purchase. On PC, you do not officially have those Nintendo levels of course, but the game has been hotly supported by the modding community.
